Celebrating The Chinese New Year
Posted on January 25, 2009 in Misfits.
So for the Chinese, today is the new year. The year of the Ox. Apparently this is the sign of prosperity through hard work. People born in this year are said to be born leaders and quite dependable. They also need peace and quiet in order to work through their ideas. When their mind has been set it is very difficult to convince them otherwise. In other words they are stubborn!
I’m born in the year of the Dragon. Please note that the dragon is the only mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac. The dragon symbolises strength, health, harmony, wealth and good luck. People that are born in the year of the dragon are flamboyant, attractive and full of vitality and strength. They also have a natural charisma and it is unlikely for them to escape unnoticed from a party or to take second place in a competition. These people have an extremely active mind and show an interest in the world around them. They are also self-confident and because they are larger than life, dragon people like to do everything on a grand scale
I like the sound of the dragon more and more. I think I’ll want to have a kid born in this year, then they will surely have success in the world right?
Well I’m sure that all the different years have their ups and downs. For now though I have some pictures from our celebration of the Chinese New Year at the Buddhist Temple.
