Just do it
Posted on February 21, 2012 in Pen on paper.
I have come to realize that I am very bad at making decisions. It hasn’t always been this way. In fact, when I was in school I was rather good at it and good at keeping to my decisions. But as I grew older and life goes on, as I gained more responsibility, I started to sometimes feel it weigh down on me. This includes simple decisions, like ‘what’s for dinner?’, or picking something off a menu.
Starting my business also forced me to make many many decisions in a short time, as I had to move quickly, and sticking to these decisions. This, I think, also tired me out. This is a big reason why I can’t chose which cheese I prefer. It’s too tiring to think about it sometimes. Too much effort to think of the consequences (good and bad). Will I like this cheese? Or, will I like the other cheese even more?
Today this will stop. Today I am back to making decisions and sticking to them. Today I am making the decision to make decisions and not think too much about them, but also not too little.
My mantra for the day is Nike’s famous slogan “Just Do It”.
For you reading this. Think about it. Are you great at making decisions (big and small)? It sounds like such a small and insignificant thing, however once you start thinking about it you may also realize that there is room for improvement. If you didn’t agree that you are GREAT at decision making, then maybe you should also remember – next time – to ‘Just Do It’.
Good luck! Great decisions, can only make life better.
