Awesome New WordPress Plugin

So something that has been very needed, in my opinion, has just been launched today. A new WordPress Plugin called MobilePress that changes your WordPress blog into a mobile blog, when viewed on a cell phone.

This awesome plugin has been developed by the hard working boys at Younique, and will surely be put into good use. Thanks to Matt, Tyler and Denham our lives will now be made a lot easier by allowing us to stay up to date on everyone’s happenings through our phones. Now aren’t all you Blogger users jealous?

Just goes to show how much better WordPress is.

Progression

This is what I call complete laziness! I really don’t think there could be anything more lazy than this. This is my dog. It started off yesterday with her watching recorded episodes of So You Think You can Dance with me. Slowly but surely she dozed off…Here are some photo’s of her Progression.

Now That’s what I call lazy. I found this hilarious. Couldn’t help but share it!

Shoes – as requested.

I love shoes! I have been asked to share my favorite pair of shoes. I find this rather impossible as I have many favorites. So here are a few of them.

Absolutely Fabulous

I bought these shoes with a friend of mine just before a lecture. We landed up spending the lecture modelling the shoes instead of paying attention.

Ruby Slippers

My Love For Dance

I’m sure it started with the shoes!

Comfort Zone

I am dotty spotty polka dotty!

Tap Heels!!!!!

Satin Slippers

Completely worn out pointes! So stunning.

These are only a few of my favorites. I can’t even start to explain show much I love shoes. There is one more picture I really want to share. I don’t have these YET, but I really would love to own these baby’s.

Ultimate Beauty.

I saw these shoes the other day while shopping for a birthday dress. Unfortunalety they are a bit more than my budget can handle but i’m still considering them…

Medical Discoveries

So we all know that the medical field is an ever changing one, with constant new discoveries and new ways of practicing. These two discoveries are rather interesting and important in the medical world.

Phone rashes.

Doctors have discovered a rash that develops from the use of cellphones. The red itchy rash that normally develops on the ear and cheek of people who use their phones A LOT is now known as “mobile phone dermatitis“. The rash is caused from an allergic reaction to the nickle surface on some phones.

Apparently many doctors had no idea that a phone could cause this condition. I’m in the same boat as them.

Do you want the Bee Gees to save your life?

Doctors and medical students have found that “Stayin Alive” by the Bee Gees is the perfect rhythm for doing CPR. The American Heart Association requires that chest compressions performed during CPR have to be done at a rate of 100 per minute. Thanks to this song, which is almost an exact match to that rate, it is made easy to remember and to keep the correct time. Who would have ever thought that “Stayin Alive” could save your life? Now it can. lol.

My Birthday

Ok, I know this post is rather late as my birthday was last week. But it’s still my birthday month, Rocktober.

I had a great birthday! The Saturday night before my birthday I had a dinner with a few friends and some random that just pitched up (definatley uninvited, maybe if he was a nicer being I would have said I didn’t mind). On my birthday itself I had a picnic in the Botanical Gardens with my family. This included good food and a BIG cake! All things in my opinion that make a birthday so great!

Here are some pictures of the dinner and the picnic.

Nobody Cares!

Why have people in South Africa become so unhelpful, actually they really just don’t care! I drive a 1964 Beetle. Why is this relevant?

Well that means I drive a car that can’t lock when you are in it (other than sticking your hand through the window to lock it with the key) because when it was made, safety wasn’t an issue. They can’t even replace the door handles with a newer models, because it is so unique. Great for safety in this country, rite? It also means my car breaks down A LOT. I actually consider myself a rather skillful driver when it comes to improvising as I constantly have to try new things to keep my car running or to get it running again (like pressing the clutch, break and accelerator at the same time with only two feet).

To get back to the point I was trying to make, is that out of all of the times I have broken down (including yesterday, as it was starting to get really dark) not once has anyone (other than taxi drivers) stopped to offer any form of help. I really appreciate the offers from the taxi drivers, but you can’t really blame me for being a bit weary of them can you.

The South African taxi drivers have really been good to me though, offering help where they can, even when they see how weary of them I am.

Why are South Africans so unhelpful? Is it because of the crime? Is it because they are scared that I will hijack them? I don’t understand it! Guys help me out here. Surely when you driving behind a young girl and everything is going well, until suddenly she randomly stops in the middle of the road, and has to roll onto the pavement… you could see something is wrong. Why does nobody help?

I have come to a point now, that I don’t even expect any help. I tell you the day I get help from a white South African is surely the day it will snow in Pretoria. People have become insensitive and uncaring towards other people, and I want to know why.

P.S: Girls I understand why you wouldn’t stop (if you are alone, no matter how much you would want to), but guys instead of staring when you drive by, how about just rolling down your window and asking if everything is ok. Is that too much to ask?

What’s In The Box?

Yey! I finally received something I have been waiting a long time for. What’s in the box?

Well as i love dancing, it’s got to be two of the most amazing Dance movies with two of the most amazing dancers of all times. If you haven’t seen these movies, do yourself a favour and watch them! They are great. It might just be a bit of a mission to get hold of them in normal video stores.

Weird Day

Ok today was quite a day. There are a few things I won’t mention as I don’t think the people involved would be very happy if they come across it on my blog. These are the things I will mention.

Firstly I get to my 9.30am lecture and the lecturer claims she can’t find her laptop “So no class for today”. Yeah like people often misplace their laptops…it’s quite common. I always misplace mine!

Then, on my way into Hatfield to buy a book for my English module, this guy on a bike flies through the red robot leaving me thinking “yeah, that’s an easy way to get killed”. After coming out of the bookshop and on my way back to campus (actually on the next corner) I see the guy crashed his bike. That’s not cool. As much as I want to say he was looking for it, I still feel for the poor guy and I really hope he is ok. Couldn’t really tell – only saw the bike and ambulance.

Back to the bookstore subject. I ran (and drove) around Hatfield searching for this book, as I have an assignment on the book due for Friday. When I finally got to the last one (the 4th bookstore) they had it. Yey. Urm…not! I already have the book. Now how stupid am I to search high and low for a book I already have.

When I get back to varsity I’m a bit early but no worries I have a lot of reading to catch up on for English so decide to go sit in the lecture hall (if it’s open) and read while waiting for my class. I peeked into the little window in the door and saw very few people in the class and they all have English with me. Guess I’m not the only early one. So I swing open the door and stroll in. What did I find? A lecturer staring at me! She was actually very nice considering I walked into her class 30 minutes late, and didn’t have the book they were reading. She told me it’s ok and that I can download it off the Internet and it’s all in the study guide (btw it’s not even the beginning of the semester when new people would be joining,it’s actually close to the end). OK so those students are in my English class but they are also taking History of Ancient Cultures. Sounds fun doesn’t it?

I then had dancing from 3.40-8.40, which left me exhausted. So I plonk onto my bed with a plate of food and watch “Lipstick Jungle”. Great new series on SABC 3. After that I decide to go to bed (as I have had such a busy day).

So I start getting comfy when I find a dead fish in my bed, yes you read correctly. A DEAD FISH!!! The fish turned out to be Matt’s fish. He found it extremely funny. Gross. We then found out it was Grishko (our dog) that carried the fish to bed. Yum!

When tweeting all this drama a gogga also flew up my nose! This just isn’t my day! Actually I find it all rather hilarious. I know if it all happened to someone else I would laugh so I can’t help but laugh at myself too.
