Daily Dose – 30 September 2008

Ok, this daily post thing is a lot harder than I thought it would be. It is going to take a lot of hard work and determination from my side. Today I read so many different articles and finally narrowed them all down to these two.

Underwear thief

A man was caught in Tokyo stealing women’s underwear with a 3m long fishing rod. When the police searched his home they found over 500 pairs of women’s underwear. The man apparently said that his obsession for stealing women’s underwear started when he was 18 years old. 33 years later and he is still going strong.

Zebra takes down lion.

As I am South African I found this story rather remarkable. A lioness thought that she would go catch herself some lunch when suddenly the lunch fought back. The zebra turned the lion over into the shallow water refusing to let her come up for air. When the lioness realised that this zebra was not going to give up the fight she released her grip giving the zebra a chance to run away.

What a lucky day for this zebra.

Daily Dose – 29 September 2008

I have decided to write a daily blog post on some interesting news as well a daily comic strip. This is quite a big commitment for me, but I think it’s something that will be rather fun for everyone to read and for me to do. So I’ll start today and try my best to make a post on this everyday.

Man caught at airport with 200 birds.

In Brazil this week a man was caught by customs with two hundred birds in his bag. 65 of the 200 Canary birds were found dead. The rest of the birds will be sent back to Peru (because that’s where they are from) and the man in question will be charged by the Brazilian police for animal trafficking.

Worlds biggest puzzle.

The Germans claim to have the worlds biggest jigsaw puzzle, which consists of 1,141,800 pieces. The puzzle was built in the town Ravensburg and has been worked on by 15 000 people. It’s hard to believe but the puzzle was put together in only 5 hours and almost covers the whole town square. The puzzle has been submitted to the Guinness Book Of World Records but has not been confirmed as the biggest in the world yet.

My Quest To Find My Perfect New Friend

For a while now I have been searching for the perfect new friend – a straightening iron. I had a few criteria to follow as I didn’t want junk. I needed a straightener that was ionising or ,as mine says, has “high power ionic performance”. I also needed a straightener that not only straightens hair but curls too.

I have been looking for a while and asking around. A few brands popped up like Babyliss and ghd, which seem to be good. Most peole suggest the ghd but finding out more about the Corioliss I had to have it.

I really believe that this is by far one of the better straighteners on the market. Not only is the Corioliss Pro Ionising but it is also one of the few hair straighteners that makes use of Nano Silver Technology. Meaning that it not only keeps your hair shiny, sleek and healthy but it also leaves my hair 99% bacteria free.

I’m loving it. I have been trying to curl my hair as well and I find that it is surprisingly easy to do. I really think that it was a good buy.

I have a feeling this is going to be a long and very happy friendship and I can’t wait, lol.
